A sculptural glass pendant that adds warmth, reflection, and atmosphere to the space.

Inspired by the fluid form of solidified lava, the LAVA pendant features an irregular shape that lends it distinct character over a traditional clean sphere. Because the cognac glass is fully transparent rather than opal, the bulb becomes an integral part of the design. Pair it with a clear LED filament at 2700K or 3000K to create a warm point of light enveloped by the tinted glass.

Finished in a versatile sabia beige, the minimalist hardware of a slim cord and small canopy never competes with the glass. It sits easily against wood, stone, plaster, and warm neutral walls, working beautifully in both dark and bright rooms because the glass carries its own inherent warmth.

Available in two sizes. The large 13.78-inch pendant easily anchors a dining table or island on its own. The medium 9.84-inch size is perfect for a cozy nook, beside a bed, or grouped in threes. Both feature a generous 68.9-inch drop, allowing you to hang them low over a counter or high in a stairwell without needing extensions.

Why people choose this fixture:

  • Irregular cognac glass, inspired by the fluid form of solidified lava
  • See-through glass, so a clear filament bulb does the work
  • Slim sabia beige cord and canopy keep the focus on the glass
  • Two sizes: large for islands and dining tables, medium for nooks and groups
  • 68.9 in of drop, low over a counter or high in a stairwell
  • cUL listed, stocked in Canada, 2-year warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size should I choose?

Over a kitchen island or a dining table where it's the only light, take the large. At 13.78 inches across it holds the space on its own. The medium at 9.84 inches suits a nook, a bedside, a small breakfast bar, or a group of three over a longer island. In a group the mediums read better, because they leave air between the shades.

What are the exact dimensions?

Medium is 9.84 inches (250 mm) across, large is 13.78 inches (350 mm). Both drop to a maximum of 68.90 inches (1750 mm) from the ceiling, and you set the length during install.

What bulb does it take, and does the choice matter?

One E26 bulb, not included. The choice matters more here than on most fixtures, because the glass is clear and you see the bulb through it. Go with a clear LED filament at 2700K or 3000K. A frosted or opal bulb flattens the whole thing. Around 6W is right for the medium and 14W for the large.

What kind of light does it give?

Warm and direct rather than soft and diffused. Light goes straight through the clear glass and picks up the cognac on the way, so the room reads warmer than the bulb alone would make it. Over a dining table that's exactly what you want. Over a work surface you'll want other light in the room too, and a dimmer is worth having so you can pull it right back in the evening.

Can I hang several together?

Yes, and the medium is the one for it. Three in a row over an island, roughly 24 to 30 inches apart, or three at staggered heights in a stairwell. Each one is a separate fixture on its own canopy though, so three pendants means three ceiling boxes. Worth sorting out before the electrician shows up.

How high should I hang it above a counter or table?

Over a kitchen island or counter, 30 to 36 inches from the surface to the bottom of the shade. Over a dining table, 28 to 34 inches from the tabletop. Lower feels more intimate, higher spreads the light wider. You set the exact drop during install.

How do I keep the glass clean?

Clear glass shows dust and fingerprints more than opal does, and it shows them most when the light is on, so plan on wiping it a bit more often than a fabric shade. Turn it off and let the bulb cool first. Dry microfibre for dust, a barely damp cloth and a dry buff for marks. Spray the cloth, not the fixture, and handle it by the metal when you change a bulb.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, with an external dimmer switch or smart bulbs. There's no built-in dimmer, so you're not locked into one system. Worth doing on this one, because dimmed low the filament through the cognac glass is most of the effect.

Does it need one ceiling box?

One per pendant. It's a single light on its own canopy, so three in a row means three ceiling boxes.

Can it go in a bathroom or on a covered porch?

No, it's rated for dry locations only. Keep it out of bathrooms with a shower or tub, and anywhere else that gets damp, including covered outdoor areas.

Is it approved for Canadian electrical code?

Yes. cUL listed for both Canada and the US, so it passes inspection and won't cause issues with insurance or a home sale.

Do I need an electrician?

It's a hardwired fixture. If you're replacing an existing ceiling light on the same box, many people handle it themselves. If you're adding a new box or moving the location, use a licensed electrician.

Is this real Scandinavian design or a copy?

Made in Poland by TK Lighting, a European manufacturer, not a rebranded import. Country of origin is listed in the specs.

How fast does it ship?

Ships from our Mississauga warehouse. 1 to 3 business days to Eastern Canada, 4 to 6 to Western Canada. Free shipping over $149.

What is the warranty?

2 years from date of purchase.

What if it doesn't work in the space?

30-day returns on uninstalled fixtures. Send it back within 30 days of delivery in its original packaging, uninstalled and unmodified. Once it's installed, it's no longer eligible for return.
